Hitomezashi stitching, with 12 wt cotton thread on silk fabric. I used three sets of parallel lines for the running stitches, but didn’t entirely finish stitching all the rows. It’s a funny thing about repeating patterns but sometimes you don’t have to finish every repeat for a good effect.

@daniel yes. I forgot to mention that this is a patch. There’s another layer of fabric underneath, a pair of pants to be exact. This is a form of visual mending to reinforce weak fabric, holes, or even just to cover stains.
