A while ago, a neighbourhood kid knocked on the door - two hours after she was meant to be at school- to ask if she could borrow some hair elastics.
She was late because her dad hadn't set an alarm and he'd only just woken up. As well as no hair elastics, she had no lunch and no socks.
And I'd been whinging about how international 5 star travel was not in our budget.

@rose_myrtle It’s funny how some of the most industrious people I know came for poor parenting. They know where bad lifestyles lead. Some of the most dead-weight people I know came from great parents. Some people fool themselves, but it’s almost cruel how little control we have over our children.
@rose_myrtle I try😂 but I’m convinced praying for them is about the only real hope.
@daniel It depends on whether you think of it in terms of control or herding - watch which direction your actions push your kids, and change your actions to encourage them in the right direction...
