Sleeping bags are very definitely a "compact, warm, cheap - choose any two" kind of deal. My collection currently skews hard to the "cheap" range and is lacking in "compact".
Might have to go shopping this weekend ...
It's hard to sort through reviews of sleeping bags, as many people seem not to understand that the temperature rating printed on most of them is the "you will not die" temperature and not the "comfort" range.
Yes, I get that you were cold and unhappy mate, but the fact that you're posting this little rant means it worked.
Anyway, in other news I spent about $250 on a blue sack that weighs 900 grams and should allow me to write negative reviews about how cold -1°C is.
