Pirates of 1920 (1911)

Lightly stabilized but otherwise not digitally manipulated.

This is a science fiction film from 1911 imagining AIR PIRATES in 1920. It's a Steampunk-y adventure, from a time when a Steam Punk adventure was Futuristic.

It's wonderful.

The last few minutes are missing, imagine your own ending (at least until I film a new one.)

I just spent 20 minutes reading about various ideas for lifting gases.

Hydrogen is *real* scary, since it is so small that it's impractical to contain, and it's Super flamable.

But! Other than hot air it seems like the only viable option (and heated air has the problem of less lift/greater area required for lift/worse maneuverability. )

We're rapidly running out of helium, so that's out.

Everything else is toxic, corrosive, and flamable, in addition to producing less lift than hyrdogen.

So I guess, if I'm going to be building airships, I need to be looking at options for safe Hydrogen storage

@ajroach42 Methane/Natural Gas. Still flammable, but much easier to store without t leaks and it's plentiful.

@ajroach42 Meh, as long as you're not venting it. Imagining a steampunk cow powered lifting gas station.
