Question for the people who have been around the interwebs for a long time:
Has the small net (gopher, gemini, self-hosted blogs, tildes etc.) always existed and I'm just now discovering it, or is this a relatively recent resurgence of old tech and tools by people who are fed up with corporate web 2.0 crap?
