I've just been reminded of something that really pisses me off. There is a culture of accusing people of making NAZI salutes like it's some massive gotcha. Like Phil Anselmo, Steve Harwell, or those Sydney FC fans. If someone is publicly declaring themselves a NAZI by saluteing in reverence to Nazism. Why would you have to secretly catch them in the act. Just walk up and ask "are you a NAZI" and they will say "yes of course! Heil Hitler". Otherwise maybe they just have a hand in the air.
@ned There’s a lot of days when I’m surveying with another guy. When we’re setting up and performing a resection it’s very critical that a clear sighting is made of the control point targets, so one of us often has to help block the sun hitting the scope. Sure, they make shrouds, but a hand works fine. Inevitably, due to the sun’s angle, and trying not to bump the tripod legs, this action turns into a Nazi salute. The look on a newbie’s face when you call them out…priceless.😂
