It looks like Justine Haupt is throwing in the towel with the Rotary Un-Smart Phone project.

It's been a wild ride of dedication, hardship, loss, perseverance, and regret. I really wish her the best. Her story scares me enough that I might learn something from her experience.
@CattleBaron I think she just needed permission to quit. That is rough.

@CattleBaron @daniel there must be a simple way to make that darn thing work. Seems way more complex than it should be
@kevets @daniel my understanding (from a message she had sent out) the individual components had passed fcc licensing so she thought no prob. fcc then tells her no-way cuz THIS particular mixture had not passed spurious emissions and whatever hoops need jumped through..gotta do(pay?) for testing. so fcc id wasnt granted ( been over a year since i read this, i might be getting some stuff wrong)
@daniel i wanted it so bad, but when she announced that getting the fcc blessing wasnt a priority, moving into a bigger factory was. i realized even if i got it, it may be nothing more than a non working model .
i hope someone buys the rights from her and is able to get it moving.
ive yet to see a video of a customer, actually using the phone. 😔
