My decision to no longer use a smart phone continues to be validated as a good decision.
(long explanation: I use a voice over IP service for text and calls on my laptop and desktop computers. I use a mobile hotspot to get mobile internet to my laptop when I am traveling. I do carry a de-googled Android Samsung Galaxy S5 phone as a backup device in case something happens to my laptop... but I rarely use it).
