@christopher @thomas Please keep in mind that #Purism only earns one time money from the purchase. They are not harvesting your private information to sell it.
A lot of work goes into development, als of free and open source software (FOSS). With a purchase you would support all of this.
@christopher @janvlug @thomas I enjoy using my Librem 5 and I’m tempted to get another one for family. There really isn’t a better alternative to Apple or Android and most people need to understand that they are leading society down some dystopian paths. It’s far from perfect, but Librem 5 can get you by.
@koen @daniel @christopher @thomas @janvlug @todd @nluug @peterhoneyman
Good idea Koen. In the meantime I will propose @rikviergever to do a talk at the next NLUUG about de-googling and AOSP if he is willing to...
@christopher I have a work phone that a use a bit too, but I do use the Librem pretty often. I keep saying that I’m going to put a SIM card in it, but haven’t had the need yet. I use SIP for calls, XMPP for texts, Tootle for ActivityPub stuff, FoxtrotGPS for maps.
@daniel @christopher @thomas @janvlug a few years ago I was in touch with @todd to see if he would be willing to speak at the @nluug conference, I should try that again.
By the way the next conference is in two days and features @peterhoneyman as keynote speaker.
