@Gina YES!!! I don't have mine anymore and have never gotten an emulator to work very well.
@mogwai_poet Very illuminating insight...🧐
Do you know those video games where you walk around with a little lantern and slowly parts of the map start to light up until you get a sense of where you are? That's what it feels like being a selftaught #sysadmin. Except the map is never ending and sometimes randomly leads you into a ravine.
@Gina My mother had to file for unemployment today for the first time in her life and she began work in 1973. She only had one year to go before retirement.
Ever wonder how buildings get built to a certain elevation? Probably not, but someone like me makes a benchmark for all of the tradesmen to use. This one is for a new middle school that thousands of people will use. There is a hidden history in every structure you enter. If you ever enter one of mine, rest assured that a lot of care, pride, and even love was given throughout the building process.
@Gina Every now and then someone writes something golden in/on one of these and I take a picture. I'll also photo political scribblings that might be interesting for posterity. I'll have enough to publish one day!
@rysiek I would absolutely. They only thing those guys really have going for them is critical mass. Federating would be a fatal mistake, because once users realize how easy migrating to greener pastures is, the jig would be up.
@Gina @danslerush Here in the US we get 2 weeks paternal leave, though it is unpaid. I'm not sure how a 4 day week would work for my line of work. My wife stays home to raise the baby and run the household, except for 3hrs/week part time work which is more for her mental health. Most people can't swing this financially, but the alternative seems so painful and warped when mothers have to leave their babies with others to go back to work.
