@artyr3 I think I will continue down it. I was hoping for one OS for my integrated home system, but realistically it will probably be a mishmash. I've been thinking a lot about how to raise my kids around tech and OpenBSD looks like a good fit because it is self explanatory. The more they learn, the more functionality they get. My oldest mostly shuns technology and would be happiest living in the early 20th century I think lol. Right @adellerichardson ?

@lo Those Greenland sharks are pretty cool and old. My friend, an ophthalmologist, would get into removing their cataracts. Don't know why anyone would want to eat that unless starving.

OpenBSD was nice to install and the documentation is on point...I just realized no ZFS. Such a bummer.

My grandmother passed this morning. Thank you folks for all the love, thoughts, and prayers!

I know this tune, but can't place it or the lyrics. Can anyone help me out?

kinda miffed that we now have nigh ubiquitous high-speed data links between our devices and no decent options for thin devices and nomadic desktop sessions between all our devices.

After the stock has congealed, scrape off the top layer of fat.
Add the chicken to the stock and reheat to a simmer.
Add half a stick of butter, a pint of half&half, and whole milk to the desired consistency.
Don't boil the soup after you add the dairy.
Add salt and pepper, at least 1 tbsp each.

Making the traditional chicken stew that we have most years. It is very simple and I enjoy it with saltines and Texas Pete hot sauce.

Boil a whole chicken in a covered pot of water covering about 2/3 of the bird until cooked.
Remove the bird and any undesirables from the stock and refrigerate.
Remove the skin and bones from the chicken and shred the meat.
Take out anything too dark or inedible and refrigerate.

@MaryMamuzich Thank you for the kind words and prayers! It is really great that my mother gets to be with her now. Funny enough this isn't Covid, but rather a result of the change in care because of it. Hospice workers are amazing people. My friend John, who died this spring, told me that he thought they might be real angels. Right now we are just enjoying the peace of God and I believe your prayers have helped.

@lo I really want one of these from Lost In Space. Do you think they just custom made everything?

My grandmother is on the last leg of her journey in this life. She became unresponsive and has entered hospice care. The workers who see this every day believe her time to be very short. I am very excited for her. Her husband, my grandfather, died twice and was brought back before dying years later. He described being in a paradise where God's love was like sunlight shining on him and those belonging to Christ. He didn't want to leave. I believe that he is there waiting for my grandmother.

So, just heard the news that users of Minecraft Java Edition will have to sign up for a Microsoft account or lose access to the game.

If you want a FOSS alternative, try checking out @Minetest

You can download it for Linux, Mac, Windows, Android and BSD from minetest.net

@lo Looks like a peaceful place. Be nice to have a little cabin nearby and escape for a while.
