OMG, I think I found the software for the first AutoCAD I ever used! I would love to get this running on something, but I'm not sure where to start...

@MaryMamuzich We still have Timber and Mesa and they are a handful with lots of energy!

My little Ivy had to be put down today. She was a rescued boarder collie mutt and was one of the fastest, most agile dogs I’ve known. She had one heck of a personality. It was a good (almost) 19 years together old girl!

"In the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, recipes for making soy sauce at home appeared in English and American cookbooks. Since soybeans were not widely available, these recipes used local ingredients such as mushrooms, walnuts, and fish...

Tomato was another popular ingredient for making American "soy" sauce... The names for these varying sauces were "ketchups," or "catch-ups," or "catsups," derived from the Indonesian word for soy sauce: ketjap."

ketchup is soy sauce????????????????

@zens Coffee works for all kinds of constipation😂 I've used sleep deprivation to change the way I think about a problem. Got some rest and checked out some code that I wrote that solved the problem a couple days later. Working, twisted spaghetti code; it took me an afternoon to figure out what was going on, comment, and clean up, but it worked.

"make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind; doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others."

"When Martin Luther contemplated how to get the Bible directly to end-users, he first considered teaching Latin to Germans. Then he considered translating the Bible to German. Both were difficult prospects; German had regional dialects. Luther chose to "fix up" German by restructuring it to be able to handle philosophical and religious discourse.

"Martin Luther was a great UI designer. He understood that you have to start where end-users are before helping them grow."

Someone at a Texas firm snuck some scripture into the structural drawings! Staring at it all day and thought it was the normal legalese haha!

Remember those pictures: "How many books can fit on a CD?"
Software development turns that wonder into a nightmare for me when I consider how large projects, and their libraries, are these days.

Me, after trying to understand software projects. I don't have a great knowledge of programming, but I like to tinker. Are you guys having an abstraction contest or something? The worst part is that I feel like everyone else sees this as a non-issue. I don't have any solutions, and I definitely can't visualize how I would ever be able to contribute to a project without making it a full-time job. Hats off to all you machines out there who really get this stuff.

Struggling to find proper mental health services for my adult autistic sister. Literally, the ER doesn't even know how to properly refer her to what she needs. Any suggestions for places in central NJ would be much appreciated. She is verbal but very closed off from people and it seems like most therapists don't know how to communicate with her.

@jordan31@theres.life I definitely don't give my Mastodon instance enough love. It started out as just a test, but I've stuck with it. I logged in a while back to clear up some space because it had gotten up to 70GB and the uptime was over a year...
