@dallin@librem.one Wouldn't have to be super fancy. Where do you keep your family pictures and videos, the cloud?

@dallin@librem.one You should ask yourself why all of these aren't living on your NAS at this point.

Please keep my fellow Coloradans in your prayers. Thousands lost their homes yesterday in fires. Should be getting some snow in a few hours, which should help.

@neauoire I was wondering how you deal with data storage and protection while living aboard Pino. I haven't noticed the topic on your website, but your book(should arrive next week!) might address it. Cloud storage, a bunch of thumb drives with zfs? I have so much data that needs sorting/deleting and I was curious about your methods.

@MisterRogersSnapped Yeah, I'm going to have to listen to the whole album again now.

@beocai Will pray for her! If she can eat, cardamom, broccoli, and blueberries have been shown in some cases to be as helpful as cancer meds without the side effects. Ask her doctors and take the meds too. That is a tough predicament. Whatever comes to pass and whatever situation we find ourselves in, remember God is with us. Make the best choices and do not worry. We have a peace that surpasses all understanding.

How long would it take an IBM 7090 mainframe from 1961 to do the equivalent of a week's worth of work from a modern laptop? Apparently, over 14 billion years, which is about the age of the universe as most scientists reckon. Also, the 7090 cost $20 million in today's money.

I got @mary a bunch of assorted old coins and they are really neat. They are a testament to the fact that we, and even our governments, are very temporary in the big picture. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”

@MaryMamuzich Computing has a kind of beauty that some people see and appreciate, but is invisible to most. Our technology is so complicated these days that individuals can't really understand the whole anymore. When a kid looks under the hood of a modern car they are immediately overwhelmed by the complexity, whereas if they did the same in the 1950's, they might understand and love it. UXN was created by @neauoire to bring back simplicity in computers.
