@Synclair He built a pretty cool house near me in Colorado.

@atyh That's funny, but Windows 8? No one deserved that.

@MisterRogersSnapped I've felt pretty good since using this as a rough guideline. Throw in a Big Mac from time to time just to keep your system on its toes.

Installed FoxtrotGPS (one of my favorite programs) and rsynced my maps from the NAS to the Librem. Lots of offline maps on a mobile Linux device!

@kyle I got my Librem 5 this week and am having fun with it. It's a dream come true. Thanks for all your hard work at Purism. I will get a copy of your new book.

@stoic@freeatlantis.com I got mine for about $550. The current price is $1300. That is very steep for what it is. I haven’t gotten to phone calls yet. People need open devices and I wanted to support the effort, but I wouldn’t be able to justify $1300. It feels nice and solid and well built.

So far, impressed! Camera and XMPP work right out of the box.

I'm finding more and more websites that don't function in Firefox and I have to access them via Chrome. Gross. The latest was FedEx. Of COURSE they dropped by with my Librem 5 the last 2 days in the 30 minute window that my wife is out of the house. They need a signature.

@atyh Even in surveying we can only say things like, “I’m 95% certain that this is where I think it is.” Anything else is a lie or ignorance.

Gotta head to a remote job site for tomorrow. Apparently this will be the first time I’ve been away at night since Heidi was born.

@LinuxGamer
There are a few ways. GIMP is pretty easy.
Open your file then go to "Image > Scale Image".
Unlock the aspect ratio and change the units to %.
Make the width 200% with the height at 100%.
Interpolation set to "None".
"File > Export As"
Change your file type to "ASCII Art".
Export.
I generally like to keep these below 400x400 px, but you can mess around with it.
