@sejo I’ve been thinking about this more since @neauoire posted a paper about Cuneiform which mentioned Chifir. My gut keeps telling me that we could learn a great deal from nature in regards to data archiving and retrieval. Biology is robust. How does instinct work? How does a foal know how to walk/run in 2 hours? How does a spider know how to make a web, etc. Nature often sacrifices efficiency for robustness and gets the ratio just about right for longevity.
@mhjohnson Worked on that project and the other concourse expansions. Haven't been on B-East in about a year though. Wish it had happened on the west side instead. Turner is so terrible to work with and Holder ran the east side so much better.
Not sure if this song got out of Denver in 2005, but it still seems on point in 2022.

@alex Surnames are nice and all, but my contacts look something like this:
Jonas, Squirrely
Jonas, Super High
Jonas, Pilot
Jonas, Farted
Helps me remember and is probably how surnames came about anyways.
@ajroach42 My 10 YO niece seemed to pick up Google Sketchup 8 in a few minutes pretty easily. I think it can export Collada files, then Meshlab can convert to other formats like STL. We weren’t do anything related to 3D printing though.
@tymektt That is awesome! Is there anything that we in the US can do to support your efforts?
@ajroach42 Same here. I think it's good to try and help others run into some "luck" if you can. Many times I've provided opportunities for people and you just never know who will seize them.
"At present the nations are heavily armed and are inventing weapons more and more terrible, as if the chief end of man could only be answered by destroying myriads of his fellows. Yet peace will prevail one day.
How will this come about? By trade? By civilization? By arbitration? Peace will be established only by the reign of the Prince of Peace. He must teach the people by His Spirit, renew their hearts by His grace, and reign over them by His supreme power, and then will they cease to wound and kill.
Man is a monster and only the Lord Jesus can turn a lion into a lamb. By changing man’s heart, his bloodthirsty passions are removed. Pray that the Giver of Peace would speedily put an end to war and establish concord over the whole world.”
- Charles Spurgeon (1887)
This was good.

@MMA and @itztheschnitz in a Toot reminded me of the book 1984.
When I first read 1984 way back in 1972, it seemed so far out there that I figured I would never see any of it happen even though the "cool" rock stars and lefties of the day warned against it.
But in 1973 my city got it's first police helicopter. Soon the first personal computers arrived and law enforcement embraced them. Coupled with the radios they had it was now possible to run warrants during a traffic stop.

@neauoire This was an interesting read. The comparison between hardware and software to body and soul, and storing media as a process, fascinated me. I am religious and no one can ever really clearly seem to define what a soul is. IMO computing brings us a little bit closer to understanding our own metaphysical nature. I think the future of permacomputing will seem like magic and we know amazing things are possible. 100 million year old microbes sprung back to life! This world is full of wonder.
This is Heidi’s favorite dancing song lately!🙂
