@Cherishingsparrows2020 @mary Yes, it is her! I don't think she's seen this post yet lol.
@atyh I built a gasifier once. Got a good flame, but never ran an engine with it. The idea was to make a small trailer-mounted device that could act as a stove and run a 500W generator. It proved too hard to pull off in such a small space for me. It is such a tinkery thing and you can never just set and forget. If I had to build another one, it would be stationary and big.
@ThatDude @ned When I'd spend time with my grandmother in her town, I was amazed at how many people she kept up with, along with so many details of their lives. Everywhere we went there was a conversation with someone she knew. No computers or cell phones. Had to be at least 400 people on her radar, but it could have been triple that number. I got the impression that this was the norm for her generation.
@atyh I get the same vibe. I've only played around at hosting my own and pretty quickly found out that most providers filtered me out. I'm sure there are workarounds. Currently pay a local host provider for email.
@cleardr0plet Yeah, we've noticed that too. Kids are learning colors and shapes and such. Wholly inappropriate content at that stage, even if you endorse such lifestyles. There's a lot of interests vying for our children. They consider them their children to an extent, but that just isn't how it works.
@Cherishingsparrows2020 They are beta testing in my area and I was able to get an antenna and router. It isn’t usually the cheapest option for internet, unless you live in a rural area.
@loweel Going to take it to a good location later today and get some numbers. The router has no ports, so it is just wireless, which is a bummer.
