I saw this advert from 1956 on Instagram and can’t work out how a fridge from nearly 70 years ago basically has better features than the fridge I own now.

@mcc Physical media is wonderful and if you haven’t looked into owning and running a NAS, I recommend it. If your goal is to access your media whenever, wherever you want, it is the most future proof solution currently. What incentive is there for people to make Blu-ray players if no one makes Blu-ray disks anymore? It amazes me how most people hand off the curation and preservation of our history to entities who are only focused on a bottom line.

When I was growing up, a teen in my neighborhood got some pot laced with something (probably phencyclidine) and became schizophrenic from that day on. I already had no interest in cannabis, but that event sealed the deal for me. I've got no problem with people who like it, but I can't be the only one who's never used it. So, have you smoked cannabis?

So today I found out that @mary uses the Voice (à la Dune) on Heidi. She speaks for/through her lovey, Buddy the Sloth and it's like witchcraft. Pretty sure the neighbors know we're nuts.😂

@RoboftheVolcano Jeremy Clarkson bought an R8 270 DCR for his farm and it seemed to work out well. Looks a bit complicated though.

Windscorpion. I warned you.

@BoredStupid Pretty sure my wife and I are a bit too. A lot of things make sense through that lens, but I'm glad that I'm me. You should volunteer for one of these groups. People need to hear these recipes for success from real people that they know.

@BoredStupid They're not, but as one who knew nothing about autism, I can clearly see the behavioral patterns in almost everyone to a degree, now that I know what to look for. They are very specific and not like a stutter or inability to pay attention. Defining oneself as a victim is never good and leads to stagnation instead of growth. There is a slight danger of that in these groups, but from what I've seen, they are good resources for families dealing with ASD. Someone with ASD has a much greater chance of living a fulfilling life nowadays than in times past. They used to just lock them up or not give them the chance to succeed or fail.

@BoredStupid I think people with level 1 struggle very much with communication and it is a huge handicap. They can get better at it through intense training and effort (sometimes), but it is never natural for them. Subtle cues, humor, sarcasm, innuendo, etc. just go whoosh. My dogs and I communicate better than many people with ASD can with other people. Agree with you about the vaccines. Most kids begin speaking and then regress (like my daughter) after a round of them.

@rose_myrtle I have some that are old enough to drink(21)! I need to give them a proper funeral and move on.

@eureka Hey, love your work! I've been thinking about making canvas tents lately and wanted to try a small one. My wife used to run a tack shop and, even though she did a bit of sewing, it's not her thing. Can you recommend any machines/reference materials that would be needed for these kind of stitches? I've had about an hour of experience on a small machine.
