I lost my good friend John Ferry this morning to cancer. He was blind, yet used his love and gift for music to bring more joy and life to others in 30-some years than some manage in 90. Live your life like John. You will be missed dear friend, and I can't wait to see you again.

@emelie Probably not a fair comparison, but my company is half unionized, half not. When I got out of the union things were so much better, way more pay and PTO. My employees are still unionized and I would like to give them raises and other perks, but my hands are tied.😟

Today my little girl turned one! It's been a fast year.

@rum_and_tea That is awesome! It is amazing how foolish and short-sighted some thoughts and attitudes are. I'm mostly at the point where part of my mind is a parent to a dumb child part that never seems to completely grow up.

First day of drilled piers at Newton Middle. Hit water on the 7th hole. Will get 11 total. Installed 2nd frame for permanent backsight and grouted prism into first.

@Gina That's why standards are important, so people feel they are on equal footing and costs are easier to manage. I'm in favor of the standard being tied to a cost, so that if the person wants a 50" monitor they can apply the price of the standard monitor to the cost of the larger. Upon termination or resignation either they owe the cost of the standard monitor and own the 50", or forfeit it to the company.
