These monitors and F-UI are great! I wish I could find something similar in real life that I could get to blend in with my bungalow reading room. Trying to mix all these styles together into something my own.

@samanthasometimes@fosstodon.org @normandc I love that movie! You ever read Ready Player One? So much fun with nostalgia thrown in.

@lo There is a time when violence is the right, moral action. I think it is important to have clearly defined lines in the sand for these situations. When I've brought this up to my friends, they agree, but don't think we're quite there yet. I'm more on the side of planning rather than reacting.

@lo You're not wrong, but the problem is that when someone goes down that road, it never seems to end. You can't have nice things without moral people.

@oldcrow1008 I did keto/fasting for over a year, lost some weight, felt pretty good, but my blood pressure never improved. My brother-in-law got prostate cancer on a similar diet and he is pretty healthy otherwise. It got me thinking about how healthy it really was. I read How Not to Die by Dr. Michael Greger and have tried a whole food plant-based diet for the past couple weeks. My BP dropped in the first week from 135 down to 110 and all of my joints feel a decade younger.

Do any of you folks live in a multi-generational home by choice? If so, how's that going? If not by choice, how's that going?

@normandc @samanthasometimes@fosstodon.org Patriot or TP shortage...hmmm

An opportunity to purchase better water rights presented itself today. For those of you who don't know, water laws are a crazy thing in Colorado and pretty much everywhere west of the Mississippi. It was going to cost around 60k to install a well, and now it should be under 30k. Water is a big deal.

@sheogorath Thank you for your response, I will check out the older thead too.

Just kidding, I would never have that spyware crap in my home.

Just watched the Librem 5 Visual Walkthrough. So much has improved. Great work guys!

@lo What is that? Looks a little like swordfish. You enjoy?

It's a hard thing, you know. Being fascinated by, and passionately interested in, something that you have zero calling or vocation to be involved in.

(I have a vocation - several - and many interests which I also love but aren't what I am supposed to be doing.)

@rose_myrtle Quite the opposite sometimes. I've been fascinated by computers since the late 80's, taught myself to program, and have always kept an interest in them. By all accounts I ought to be a rock star programmer/computer engineer, but I'm not. I am almost exactly Zuckerberg's age. I still learn and keep up with computer technology with a passion that my friends who work in the industry have lost. Sometimes, when you love something, the worst thing you can do is make a living from it.

@sheogorath Can you explain that line of thought a little bit? I don't know enough about it to have an opinion. Hoping to get my Librem 5 in the next few months!

@sinbach @bethany It is quite obvious that there is a gradient of sin and I don't think there is much of an argument otherwise. I'm a surveyor by profession and many times I'm required to measure and document where something is and compare it to where it is supposed to be. Things are never perfect or wrong. There are statistical measurements taken over time that provide certainty of whether something is in tolerance or not. I think our actions are a lot like this when it comes to sin.

My daughter should be sleeping. Instead, by the sound of it, she is upstairs in her crib going on all kinds of adventures with her stuffed animals, spouting off all sorts of cute toddler-speak, and maybe listening to some good stand-up from her buddy Sputnik the Sloth. It is hard to understand how God could entrust such treasure to the world.

@sinbach @bethany Listen, Jesus wants you to tell your grandmother to fix that pie, because she is going to be making it FOREVER in the age to come. Better to just rip that band-aid clean off.
