@Berrybunchfamily @tymektt They use corn/maize for that.
@Berrybunchfamily Been thinking about and praying for you guys, glad things are going as well as they are!
Ok, this just happened. In a construction trailer with some guys at break and we somehow started talking about The Gulag Archipelago. Three out of the five guys had read it and it was a good conversation. A lot of people generally think construction workers are dumb, but I bet most college freshmen are not as well read.
@neauoire @seaandsailor Yes, how does that process work when you’re getting Uxn to work with new hardware? Do you have to find documentation for compiling C programs? How do peripheral devices get figured out?
@neauoire @seaandsailor I’m really enjoying learning about lower level software and hardware and think I will be using Controllino for my hydronic heating and cooling system. Still interested in seeing what I can make run Uxn but I’m still very green. If you wanted to run a VM, but not on an OS, what would you call the piece of software that interprets for the VM to the hardware?
@neauoire That looks like it belongs in Ghostbusters.
@neauoire Nice! The fjords on the northern part of the South Island in New Zealand are on my bucket list along with that area. I am so landlocked now.
Okay there's something really cool I've just learned. If you are continuously recording air pressure e.g. as part of your home automation setup or a weather station then you should really check the data of the last 24h.
You should be able to spot the pressure wave from the volcanic explosion in Tonga earlier today.
It reached my setup in Kaiserslautern at about 20:30.
To minimize suffering and to maximize security were natural and proper ends of society and Caesar. But then they became the only ends, somehow, and the only basis of law — a perversion. Inevitably, then, in seeking only them, we found only their opposites: maximum suffering and minimum security.
—Ray Bradbury, The Golden Apples of the Sun
@ParkerTechGuy Me and @mary go there, or the one in Evergreen, a few times a year. Great food and Evergreen has nice outdoor seating if the weather behaves.
@KarePatriot @MMA @SweetIceTea @pamby1 @watson @h53pilot @conservativechris @LaughterintheRain@freeatlantis.com @Phil @Bleukitty @Andre My daughter has ASD and seemed to be developing normally with a few words and then regressed. I can’t think of anything that changed other than she got rounds of vaccines around that time. It is something that I wonder about.
@dazinism @cjd @TMakarios That does stink. The concept becoming mainstream has done some good though because people know they can get by with a lot less energy usage. People used to chop wood like madmen to make it through winter and I always thought they might be better off if they used it for insulation rather than burning it.
