I read some Of Plimoth Plantation, by William Bradford around Thanksgiving time every year. For those who don't know, it is a firsthand account of the people we know as the Pilgrims in the US who landed 400 years ago. I usually read about their first year 1620 in book 2, but this time branched out to 1623. Here is an excerpt.

Basically, communism didn't work; even for these hardcore moral people. Private property turned failure to success. Nothing new under the sun.

Hey recipe websites! You might be doing it wrong if my wife(not super techie) finds using lynx in the terminal to be a better user experience than a web browser for your site. She's not wrong either.

These monitors and F-UI are great! I wish I could find something similar in real life that I could get to blend in with my bungalow reading room. Trying to mix all these styles together into something my own.

Do any of you folks live in a multi-generational home by choice? If so, how's that going? If not by choice, how's that going?

An opportunity to purchase better water rights presented itself today. For those of you who don't know, water laws are a crazy thing in Colorado and pretty much everywhere west of the Mississippi. It was going to cost around 60k to install a well, and now it should be under 30k. Water is a big deal.

Just kidding, I would never have that spyware crap in my home.

Just watched the Librem 5 Visual Walkthrough. So much has improved. Great work guys!

It's a hard thing, you know. Being fascinated by, and passionately interested in, something that you have zero calling or vocation to be involved in.

(I have a vocation - several - and many interests which I also love but aren't what I am supposed to be doing.)

My daughter should be sleeping. Instead, by the sound of it, she is upstairs in her crib going on all kinds of adventures with her stuffed animals, spouting off all sorts of cute toddler-speak, and maybe listening to some good stand-up from her buddy Sputnik the Sloth. It is hard to understand how God could entrust such treasure to the world.
