@artyr3 I hear that they are working on the power requirements on their end as well. Honestly, having it on part of the day might be a way to reign in some of the negative effects of always being connected. You always use something better if you have to be intentional about it too. That is part of my reasoning for going off-grid in the first place. What do you think of Tesla Powerwalls? They are expensive, but have a good warranty. You can't say making your own system up to code is cheap.

@artyr3 Oh man, I didn't even check that! That can't be right?! I do remember seeing that it would melt snow...We are building off-grid even though we do have access to it. I wonder if I could build some kind of big dish to boost the gain and reduce the power consumption?

Heidi said about 10 new words today. She really likes "Woooow!" I need to try harder to get video of these moments. Tomorrow evening marks a week since you folks have been praying for us. What a roller coaster of a week! So many miracles. Times like these are meant to be remembered and shared.

I've been re-doing the reverse ceiling plan for the new house. I picked up and wired one of the actual lights to see how it looked today. It is absolutely amazing how much better lighting has become in 20 years. These are 4" slim recessed LED lights and I don't even have to install a can. If you're building new or remodeling, give Halo or Lithonia slim LEDs a try.

@MisterRogersSnapped Merlot is a solid go-to and my wife's fav. I like cabernet sauvignon but am not picky. Malbec is good. Most places in the US, shoot for $30-$50 a bottle and you're usually safe for a date. Anything more and you're getting diminished returns, anything less and it's like a box of chocolates. Serve somewhere between fridge and room temperature.

Update on Heidi. She was pretty grumpy after the surgery, but the doc said he had to wash the fluid out of her ears and that it was the consistency of glue. He thought it was probably impacting her hearing by around 30dB! She just woke up from a nap and we can tell that she is hearing things clearly for the first time! God is good! It is so great seeing her watch her go-to videos with a new excitement. Thank you for your continual prayers and praise God for answering them! Video to come soon.
