Has anyone else noticed that almost every box or package these days is basically impossible to open cleanly because they use too much glue in the packaging?
I was in town and near the FreeBSD Foundation address, so I decided to drop by. It’s just a mailbox.

Salvation at the Graduation!
In this Buddhist dominated country, the non-Christians relatives attended the Bible School Graduation, were just thinking of clicking of a selfie with their children. They got more than what they bargained for... One of the Pastors at the Graduation service, shared the simple Gospel message and gave an alter call, close to 10 people responded and accepted Christ. I got excited when I saw that there was a Nextcloud Social app that integrated with the Fediverse. I couldn't get it to work at all.😞

Just go and talk to someone working in retail or fast food like they’re a human being. Ask them how their day’s going and thank them. You’ll notice how unaccustomed they are to be treated decently and how much it brightens their day.

I need to find a syncing encrypted journal software for Android and Linux that can be trusted. Needs to have the ability to work offline for those times I may not have good cell signal. I pay for enough stuff as it is, so looking for something free. I'll donate later if I find it's working well. Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be great if I could use my YunoHost server or Nextcloud.

In 2025 the biggest superpower will be the ability to be hopeful and optimistic. Not as a way of avoiding the hard stuff, but in the sense of knowing that change is possible, that nationalism and tribalism can be defeated, and that dystopia is not a preordained fate.
@ben I would add that those who experienced good times and things, that no longer exist, should testify that such times and things are possible.
@eriner This really is the best publicly available cold storage we have at this point. I do this with regular Blu-ray, but do not have the process perfected. It really can get quite complicated, which is what you want to avoid. A lot of the knowledge in this area is rapidly disappearing from the internet. There’s a whole generation that hasn’t been exposed to optical storage. I’ve used par2, which isn’t bad, but settled with ZFS.
Heidi has been playing with the wood carvings her great grandfather made. I wonder if he had that in mind while working on them.
