@messenjahofchrist I hear so much hate and vile speech coming from a lot of the left that is completely lacking in decency. There is no concern for honor or righteousness in how they play politics. I so wish that we could get to a place politically where the politicians could behave like decent human beings. You are right, but this isn't just about abortion, we need someone who interprets and upholds the Constitution in the spirit in which it was written. Mercy would be foolish.
@M0YNG More like arrrf shield
@jmclaughlin91 It is a bit infuriating knowing that maybe an extra $10 thrown at the hardware during manufacturing would significantly extend the life of the appliance.
My 55" TV/computer display went on the fritz yesterday and started blinking on and off. Pretty confident that I could repair it in 2/3 hours, but I bought a new one today anyways. Probably will give it a go next week, but it would be nice to give it to a motivated kid to fix. I wonder where I can find one of those? I now realize that many of the "wasteful/lazy" things I saw adults do when I was a kid were really just opportunities thrown to me.
@KarMarJo57 My daughter has grown into a wonderful young woman who knows the Lord and serves in various ways. This year my new wife and I celebrate our 10th anniversary and have a beautiful little girl of our own. God is good and faithful. Even when His ideals are ruined by us, He is able to straighten out the mess and bring healing!
@KarMarJo57 When I was working out of town several years ago, my wife left me and took our young daughter. I never really got an explanation other than she just didn't feel in love anymore. She dated around, got her divorce, got pregnant, and remarried. It was a couple of years before I truly forgave her. I prayed and nagged her about getting back into church for years and one day she did. She and her family of 6 now have a stable faith and there is peace all around.
@MisterRogersSnapped @spaceman You should take a little time every day and go through Linux From Scratch.
@MisterRogersSnapped @spaceman It's kinda boring but I have Mint with xfce and cinnamon on several computers. My basement is starting to look like that shack in District 9 with all of the old computers. Hard to toss "trash" that is perfectly usable even if it is unsightly.
@Ctyree Oh boy, I don't think the mark of the beast is going to be any kind of surprise or secret. It will be a super obvious line in the sand that will carry dire consequences if crossed. It's going to happen and Christians and anyone else who denies it will be be-headed. Talk to your friends and loved ones and clearly define your lines in the sand before the times come to decide and stand together.
@Ctyree Well look at the N95 mask. N is the 14th letter in the alphabet, and the mark can be in 2 places...14*95/2=665 OK probably not the mark of the beast, but we're getting close😆
@Cleisthenes I got a french press a couple of weeks ago and use it for coffee and tea. 5 minutes seems about right to me before pressing. Never tried a percolator.
@Citizenzibb@fosstodon.org @penny @mia@nazrin.moe After years of asking me for a meat grinder, I finally got my wife one last anniversary. Best way to make burgers by far and it isn't too hard to clean.
For me it began when when I was 7-10 and came almost exclusively from movies and books, though my librarian had been part of the civil rights movement and told us stories. Freedom was something mentioned often in church, but at that age it didn't really click. The Call of the Wild, White Fang, Little House Books, Roots, Snow Treasure, and The Dairy of Anne Frank all seemed to have had a profound impact on me.
